Art and Music for Homeschooled Students
We are happy to introduce a class designed to fulfill the art and music requirements for parents that are homeschooling their children. This weekly class will consist of one hour of art and one hour of music, back-to-back, for ages 5 through 16. Students will be separated into two groups according to their ages.
The art portion of the program shall include instruction in drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, printmaking, and art history. Topics covered will include composition, color theory, perspective, drawing from life, use of materials, and technique. Students will be taught by teacher demonstrations and through individual help. All art supplies are included.
The music portion will include ear training, rhythm basics, music theory, music literacy, basic piano, and music history. Activities will include drumming, singing, movement, listening, hand bells, music learning games, piano, and other activities designed to aid in learning.
Classes will meet once per week for two hours (one hour of music, one hour of art). There is a choice of times (please pick one): Tuesdays 10:00 am - noon or Wednesdays 10:00 am - noon. The spring session will begin Tuesday February 5/Wednesday February 6, 2019, and continues through Tuesday May 21/Wednesday May 22, 2019, for a total of sixteen 2-hour sessions. Students that miss a day can make up on the other day (please call ahead).
$350 for all sixteen 2-hour sessions (includes all materials) if paid for in full by 1/31/19
If paying monthly: $24 per 2-hour session for the number of sessions in that month - due at the first class of each month (includes all materials)
Pay by week or drop-in: $30 per 2-hour session (includes materials) Please call by the Monday of the week you plan to drop-in to confirm that space is available for your child.
